The arts roundtable series was conceived of and initiated by Madeleine Spencer and organized in a brilliant collaboration between Downtown Business Improvement District Groups and the Santa Ana Unified School District.
The Artist Roundtable was a six-part, multi-event series. The Santa Ana Arts Roundtable events were organized collaboratively by Madeleine Spencer (SABC), Ryan Smolar (DTI), and Robyn MacNair (SAUSD) and many participating arts institutions, museums, and local arts organizations. This was done with the hopes of connecting and empowering artists in person and online at SantaAnaArts.org.
The Arts Roundtable series kicked off in 2015 at Santa Ana High School and has traveled to the Bowers Museum, OC Heritage Museum, Segerstrom Center for the Arts the The Frida Cinema and in Finale the first Municipal Art Showcase featuring 50 Artists occurred at Orange County Center for Contemporary Arts. The mission of this project was to follow the request of the creative community in Santa Ana by building resources to create equity in the arts and helping local artists and arts organizations connect and provide jobs to artists so that they might thrive in Santa Ana.
The Final Santa Ana Arts Roundtable was created to showcase the launch of the Santa Ana Artists Registry by the Santa Ana Business Council, Downtown Inc., and Santa Ana Unified School District, to share major accomplishments along the way and to celebrate the successes of the project along with the other major arts institutions across Santa Ana and SanArts Conservatory and the City of Santa Ana under the banner of SantaAnaArts.org.
