Based on the market study analysis of the downtown, it was revealed that Santa Ana is already a destination for wellness Goods and Services', like food, exercise, culture, sports, etc., AND that the largest purchasing power is in the Latino residents that live in the neighborhoods surrounding the downtown. We definitely agree and think this is in line with the vision of the BHC, which is that Santa Ana residents get a shot at improved health conditions. For this reason, we've worked with multiple stakeholders to draft a Wellness District Resolution.
A Wellness District in the downtown will uplift Santa Ana as a destination for food, health, culture, and a family experience. Affordable, culturally relevant events and community-friendly locations will bring Santa Ana residents, commuters, and visitors downtown, assuring that Calle Cuatro" memorializes and affirms Latino history past and present. Community-run microfarms will replace vacant lots to provide affordable, local, and healthy food for residents and restaurants. Economic development downtown and citywide will include everyone. Through wellness, We Thrive Together.
